Polish-Danish IT bilateral cooperation in the marine sector


High Tech/IT bilateral cooperation in the marine sector was the title of the seminar within the framework of the Danish Maritime Days. The seminar was organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Copenhagen. Representatives of business, administration and maritime clusters participated in the seminar, in sunny May 2nd, in  Lokomotivvarkstedet.

We have many opportunities and areas of cooperation in the field of IT and maritime economy, said Polish Ambassador Henryka Mościcka-Dendys in the speech opening the seminar. About possibilities for cooperation between Poland and Denmark, at the EU and global level, in the high-tech, maritime sector informed  Mr. Marek Magierowski, Undersecretary of State, Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


About Danish perspective on cooperating with Poland and how Poland and Denmark can  contribute to the blue growth, informed  Ms. Jenny N. Braat, the Managing Director of Danish Maritime. Innovative  ships and marine structures from the Polish shipyards presented Mr. Jerzy Czuczman, Association of Polish Maritime Industries.


Polish Maritime Cluster activity presented   Mr. Marek Grzybowski, president of the Board, Polish Maritime Cluster. Polish Maritime Cluster is an important Maritime Cluster in Central and Eastern Europe, an active maritime cluster player in the Baltic Sea Region and the EU, as well as a member of the European Network of Maritime Clusters, United Nation Global Compact and The European Cluster Collaboration Platform. The Polish Maritime Cluster focuses on transferring knowledge and organizing business, science and administration cooperation in a global and regional scale. The cluster thinks globally and acts globally. Polish maritime industries have great development potential and are focused on international cooperation in maritime economy. Denmark can take advantage of the innovative potential of Polish producers of ships and yachts as well as services and the researcher’s potential. About potential, structure and services the Polish Ship Managers’ Association has presentation, Radosław Stefaniak, Secretary PSMA. Members of the organization manage 230 vessels [mostly ocean-going plus significant number of offshore vessels] with a tonnage in total circa 2,5 mln DWT.
