Maritime Economy Forum 2017 – Gdynia – October 13

The prospects of maritime economy in Poland in light of the most current trends on global markets, innovations in ship-building industry and legislative matters connected with the Ship-Building Act and status of seamen are the leading topics at the Maritime Economy Forum 2017.

The condition of the maritime industry has a significant impact not only on regions benefiting from sea, but also on the development of innovative economy areas that are key for Poland and its growing competitiveness on the global scale. We discuss maritime economy for the seventeenth time: in 2001-2014 as part of the Economy Forum, and since 2015 as part of the Maritime Economy Forum. The high attendance during previous editions, relevant debates between entrepreneurs, experts, representatives of authorities and academia as well as formulated conclusions confirm that the event, viewed as the most important forum of maritime industry in Poland, is successful in creating good relations and responds to the sector’s needs.

The Maritime Economy Forum Gdynia is created in close co-operation with maritime circles, academic institutions and numerous business partners. This is a guarantee that the discussed issues will concern most current problems, taking into account key phenomena that affect world economy and directions of the Polish economy’s development. Participants of this year’s Forum will be able to take part in four different panels: “Maritime Industries”, “Seaports”, “Maritime Logistics” and “Ship Management”. The following subjects, among others, will be mentioned during discussions: innovations in ship-building industry, digitisation of transport, consolidation of the container market, co-operation of Polish ports, and legal solutions connected with the Ship-Building Act and the status of seamen. The Forum’s reputation is also an incentive for young people to connect their future with the maritime industry. We have the following events with academia and students of industry schools in mind: learning trips to companies belonging to the maritime industry, film competition, and the exhibition of innovation achievements of Polish companies representing the industry.

The Forum will be held on 13th October 2017, Friday, at the Conference Centre of the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia at al. Zwycięstwa 96/98.

Participation in the Forum is free of charge. Registration starts in August.
